ONCE UPON A TIME...
…in 1982. Orwell wrote 1984 and the internet was just a military project. There were cables and antennas on every roof (like in Amélie ). A time when you checked your mailbox a hundred times until that long-awaited letter finally arrived to get news from so-and-so. A time when a single telephone line reigned in the living room and its use was timed because it was expensive to use…
Shortly after, suddenly, the audiovisual industry exploded. The (crazy!) 90s arrived to the delight of Spanish homes, which marveled at a range of private channels with crazy content. We discovered Japanese anime , Italian mamachicho and, wonder of wonders, the puppets that preceded the codified content of a certain French channel.
On the top floor of a brick building in the south of Madrid, Roma G. Longoria discovers cinema with Fantasia , a Disney classic, Shining , a masterpiece by Kubrick and ET The Extra-Terrestrial , by Spielberg. In the summer, Roma G. Longoria writes stories to keep up a correspondence with friends. In the winter, during the (endless) family meals where more than 50 people gather, she livens up the gathering with dishonest princes, mischievous warriors and fearful dragons. It's time for plays, where sisters and neighbours play roles that she had written for the delight of a select audience of grandmothers and parents.
Roma G. Longoria has always been fascinated by the art of storytelling. Since she was little, she has devoured books (short stories, novels, biographies), comics, series and films. Throughout her professional career, Roma G. Longoria confirms that artistic creation is the tool she needs to express her vision of the world and explore her imagination.
After fifteen years of writing storytelling for major brands and directing advertising, Roma G. Longoria returns to her first love, the art of fictional screenplays. Thus, she reproduces stories that, like when she was little, she sees scrolling through the TV in her head.
